Jarrod Prodeman is a former highly respected epidemiologist whose career ended in 2008 after it was revealed that he had faked some research to obtain a grant according to H50 Officer Kono Kalakaua.

As such, Prodeman was forced to resign and was left disgraced by the outcome.

He later stole several vials containing smallpox and had four men become unwitting guinea pigs for his experiment although one later escaped, exposing the experiment.

As such, Prodeman killed the remaining subjects and realizing that the authorities were on to him, fled to Honolulu International Airport where he later switched IDs with Benjamin Gallagher and as such, flew to Los Angeles with NCIS Special Agents G. Callen and Sam Hanna and Hawaii Five-0 Task Force Detectives, Danny Williams and Chin Ho Kelly hot on his tail which resulted in NCIS: Office of Special Projects and the H50 forming a joint partnership to find and stop Prodeman.

Despite trying to evade the authorities, Prodeman was not as successful as he had been in Hawaii and was eventually caught and arrested by Chin and Sam who tackled him after witnessing his return to his hotel room in Venice Beach.

During an interrogation with Sam and Callen, Prodeman revealed that he had sold the vials to Dr. Rachel Holden.

It's presumed that Prodeman was eventually jailed for his involvement in the deaths of the five people he had infected while in Hawaii and for also killing Sharon Walker as well.
